School Priorities

* Maintain a school climate built on safety, mutual respect, peaceful problem-solving, and high expectations for attendance, behavior, and learning wherein every student and each staff member are accountable for the success of the entire school family.

* Function as a vibrant Professional Learning Community that emphasizes professional growth and learning through action research, collaboration, instructional consistency, and mutual respect.

*Continually review data to inform instructional practices with the intent of enhancing academic achievement for all students, particularly those in targeted sub-groups.


GOALS FOR 2011-2012


GOAL STATEMENT 1: To improve and enhance math
  instruction and achievement so that all students will
  meet the benchmarks on state Standards of Learning 
  math tests.


GOAL STATEMENT 2:  To improve and enhance reading
  and writing instruction and achievement so that all
  students will meet the benchmarks on state Standards
  of Learning reading and writing tests. 
 
  
GOAL STATEMENT 3:  To maintain and refine the
  student management and community building programs
  (Responsive Classroom, Kelso's Choices, Boys/Girls'
  Town Social Skills, and Olweus Bullying Prevention
  Programs) in order to foster a school climate of mutual
  respect, peaceful problem solving, and high
  expectations.


GOAL STATEMENT 4:  To continue developing a strong
  Professional Learning Community.
